Obituary for Mildred Kneesel

Mildred P. Kneesel, age 92 of La Crosse, Wisconsin passed away at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
She was born in Caledonia, Minnesota to Peter and Mathilda (Iverson) Renslo on October 12, 1922. She was joined in marriage to William Kneesel in La Crosse on May 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1982. Mildred spent her career working as a legal secretary at a local law office for over 30 years. She was generous with donating her time, both volunteering at Hillview nursing home and Our Savior Lutheran Church, both in La Crosse. She spent her free time on bowling leagues and knitting all sorts of projects. But her pastime during the fall was certainly as a strong supporter of the Green Bay Packers.
Mildred is survived by her children, Steven (Barbara) Kneesel of Onalaska, and William (Michele) Kneesel of La Crosse, grandchildren, Ryan (Tonya) Kneesel, Justin (Sally) Kneesel, Mathew (Alyissa) Kneesel, Joan Wagner, Steve (Laura) Brown and Jamie (Lonnie) Burkhart, granddaughter in-law, Amy Kneesel, step-grandchildren, Randy and Christopher, 16 great-grandchildren and her sister, Genevieve Lacy of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents, Peter and Mathilda, her brother, Orville Renslo, and recently, her grandson, Chad Kneesel.
Funeral services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, (612 Division St., La Crosse) on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
The Sletten-McKee-Hanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
