Wesley Forrest Severson, Jr., age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9th, 2020 at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home in La Crosse, Wisconsin following an extended illness. Wesley was born September 17th, 1950 to Joyce Carlson and Wesley Severson, Sr., in La Crosse.

Wesley is survived by his five children Sarah (Steve) Rauch, Sanse Severson, Sam Severson (Milisa Foos), Sean Severson (Lora Haider), and Todd Severson (Christina Arostegui); his three grandchildren Ryan (Candice) Rauch, Hannah Rauch, and Reese Severson; his siblings Debrien Smith, Jeffrey (Debbie) Severson, Tamla Weibel, and Cindie Severson Huxsahl (Dr. John Huxsahl).
In his childhood, Wesley loved riding his beloved black Arabian mare, Lady. Wesley graduated from Logan High School, in 1968, where he was a member of the Men’s Gymnastics team. Following graduation, Wesley volunteered to serve his country by joining the army and completed his basic training at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. After serving in the army, Wesley led a full and productive life. As a young man he enjoyed skiing and riding motorcycles. He earned an accounting degree from WWTC in La Crosse, worked in construction building houses, operated heavy machinery, and ultimately retired as a forklift mechanic from G Heileman Brewing Company, where he had made many life-long friends. Later in life, he loved vacationing in the Black Hills, the National Parks, and he especially loved ascending Crazy Horse Monument during the annual Volks March. He always loved fishing with family and friends.
He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and a dear friend who was always there to lend a hand.
A special thank you to his dear friends John, Sue, and Willy Stetter who were always there for him and held a special place in his heart. Thank you to the compassionate staff at Bethany Riverside for the exceptional care and comfort they provided him.
We love you and miss you Dad!
