Obituary for Nancy A. Harbaugh

Nancy Harbaugh, 87, of Holmen, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Onalaska Care Center.
Nancy was born July 7, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Isaac and Katherine Boomer. In 1950 she graduated from Central High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
On September 01, 1951, she married the love of her life Jack Harbaugh. They have remained together for 68 years. Nancy was the lady who had a smile for everyone.
She raised her family, as well as, working as a secretary full-time at The Trane Company, for more than 25 years. In their younger years, it was a common sight to see Jack and Nancy on their motorcycle enjoying time with friends. When there were a few extra minutes, she enjoyed cooking those fabulous roast beef Sunday dinners and taking the Sunday family car rides in the old Pontiac station wagon. Many happy days were spent boating and beaching on the river in the summers and on snowmobiles in the winter; she truly enjoyed the outdoors and her family.
Nancy is survived by her husband Jack of Holmen, six children: Susan (Bob) Liska, Sparta, Dan (Ellen) Harbaugh, La Crescent, Jim (Kris) Harbaugh, West Salem, Rose Ann Hammes (Dennis Leis) La Crosse, Lori (Mike) Averbeck, Holmen, and Debbie Harbaugh, Holmen. Grandchildren: Nicole (Jason) Mueller, Rochester, Cory (Kari) Harbaugh, Mt. Pleasant, Kasey (Andy) Senn, Onalaska, Cullen (Tina) Harbaugh, West Salem, Jaclyn (Mikkel) Dunnum, Onalaska, Anne Du Charme (Rachel Mahairas) La Crosse, Pam (Jesse) Henderson, Holmen, Adam Hammes, Madison, Kim (Tim) Sires, La Crosse, 23 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Milly Kelley.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the entire staff of the Onalaska Care Center, for the loving care they gave mom and our family.
There is only one happiness in life; to love and be loved.

We had some good times, even though we were 150 miles away. We won’t be able to make it to the memorial because I can’t drive that far right now. We are with you and your family in prayer.

We are very sorry for your loss. We know Nancy will be missed in so many ways. She truly did have a wonderful, warm, ready smile!! I have wonderful memories of our occasional family reunions (and the delicious potlucks!) where I was able to visit with our Harbaugh cousins, especially Susan. We are holding all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
