Obituary for Ida I. Luhman
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend
It is with a heavy heart that we must tell you, our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Ida I (Stang) Luhman, passed away on February 14, 2025. Ida brought immense joy and love into the lives of all who knew her.
Ida was a radiant soul with an infectious laugh and a kind heart. She had a passion for bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging for all around her. She was a source of love, compassion and unwavering strength and touched our lives in immeasurable ways.
Ida was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin on April 23, 1958, to Clara (Danielson) and George Stang, and was raised by Orlando and Patricia Freng.
Ida truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, pouring her heart and soul into her husband, friends and family, experimenting with cooking, quilting, sewing and gardening. She had a natural ability to reach people in deep and positive ways. She possessed an unwavering loyalty and always went above and beyond to support and uplift her loved ones. Her compassionate nature and empathetic ear, providing comfort to those in need, making her a pillar of strength.
Ida’s role as a grandmother brought her immense joy. She loved to shower her grandchildren with love, creating cherished memories they will forever hold dear. Beyond being a mother and grandmother, Ida was a cherished wife and a dear friend to many. Her kindness and empathy touched lives, offering support and wise insights. Her kindness brought comfort to many.
Ida is a Logan High graduate and spent many years running her daycare and being a personal care worker. She loved spending time with people and helping them whether it was a difficult situation or a memorable event.
Ida is survived by her loving husband Rick Luhman and her children Carla Howe, April Howe, Jessica Luhman, Janis (Jason) Copsey, Stanley (Stephanie) Howe, James (Lindsay) Luhman, Jennifer (Anton) Meyers, Michael (Samantha) Arentz. Aside from her children, she is survived by her bestie Dana Miller, mother, half/step brothers and sisters, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by Clara Danielson (mother), George Stang (father), Orlando Freng (father), Leland Stang (brother), Maranda Freng (sister), Stanley Howe I (first husband).
Family, friends, and others whose lives Ida touched are invited to the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center (1433 Rose Street Lacrosse, WI) for a celebration of life, on April 24th from 4pm to 8pm.
She will forever remain in the hearts of her friends and family!!
