Obituary for Douglas R. Polus
Douglas R. Polus, 67 of Onalaska, WI passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 16, 2022 at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, WI.
Born to Roger and Bernice (Julson) Polus on February 1, 1955, he was the oldest of his siblings, Wayne, Steve (Tracy), Marsha (Butch) Becker, Debbie (Bruce) Erickson.
Doug was a hard working man with a love for life. He was a member of the coffee club, bowling league, and loved the outdoors.
He served a short time in the military as a marine and was always the life of the party. A simple & genuine man with a deep love for his friends and family. All who knew him will remember his big smile, welcoming heart, and those famous catch phrases he always used.
Early in life, he married his first wife and had four children, Heath (Amanda) Polus, Laura (Terry) Welsh, Travis (Rebecca), and Lucas Polus.
Over the years, his family only grew bigger. He met the love of his life Kathie, his stepchildren Timothy (Michelle) McConnell, Carrie (Chad) Mickelson and the rest of the family. Father & Mother in law Norman and Margaret Krumenauer, Brothers in law Chuck (Cynthia), John (Jackie) Krumenauer & Sister in-law Julie (Travis) Feirtag.
Doug had 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren (2 unborn at the time of his passing) and many nieces and nephews.
He will be met by his mother, father and brothers Wayne & Steve at the pearly gates and will be missed by so many.
Let’s raise our glasses to a great guy. Here’s to you Doug! Cheers!

I don’t know who put together the obit, but they did a fine job, (finer en frog hair!. maybe even as slick as snot on a door knob!).
I knew Dougie for over 20 yrs. And worked with him for 5yrs, With Larry Favre. Oh the beautiful work we did, and pitchers of beer we killed!
I would like to send my most sincere and deepest regards too his family, and loved ones…
On another sad note for those who knew Larry, And may not have known of it, Larry passed away Jan. 26th, after a hard faught battle with cancer. Heaven has gained 2 more stars.
