Obituary for Donna M. Boardman

Donna Marie Boardman (Oestreich) of La Crosse, WI passed away June 3^rd, 2023. Donna was born November 8^th, 1949 to Leona (Oestreich) and Raymond Holmes in La Crosse, WI. Shortly after Donna’s birth, Leona passed away and Donna was adopted by Inez and Lester Oestreich. Donna attended Washburn public schools and graduated from Central High School. She was known by many as “Donnie”.

Early in life, Donna met Clinton (“Butch”) A. Boardman. The two married in 1970 and welcomed a daughter named Rhonda. Donna and Clinton later divorced and she met William Ogden. In 1979, Donna and William had a son, Timothy. Donna’s two children were her pride and joy.

Donna worked many years at Deltronics in La Crosse and as an Industrial Sewer at ORC. Prior to retirement, Donna worked at Stoney Creek Inn.

Donna was a loving, caring, adorable little spitfire. She was often described as “feisty”, but she had the biggest heart and her loved ones were very special to her. Donna liked watching scary movies/shows. Some of her favorites included Halloween, Friday the 13^th, and Tales from the Crypt. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and home decorating. Her idol was Elvis Presley. Oh, did she love Elvis!! Donna adored dogs and she always held a special place in her heart for her late Shih Tzu, Dutchess.

Donna is survived by her daughter Rhonda Boardman (Jeff); son Timothy Boardman; grandchildren Tanya Henke (Anthony), Brandon Henke, Katie Boardman, Jeriah Boardman, and Matthew Boardman; sister Marleen (Don) Stover; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Leona and Raymond Holmes and Inez and Lester Oestreich; sisters Shirley Holmes and Janet Minor; and brother Mike Holmes.

A gathering to remember and celebrate Donna’s life will be held at Myrick Park Main Shelter on July 9^th (1:00-4:00 PM).
