Obituary for Clinton "Butch" Boardman
Clinton “Butch” Boardman, age 69, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 after a courageous, year-long battle with cancer. Butch was born June 8th, 1951. He was the son of James and Phyllis (Hanson) Boardman. Butch was a fun-loving person whose hobbies included cooking and fishing. Butch enjoyed putting on his own fish fries for his family and friends. He was a family man; even as Butch was struggling with his own health issues, he managed to make it a priority to care for and cook for his mother for as long as he was able. Butch was a proud Navy veteran, which is evident with his wish to be ultimately laid to rest at sea. The Sletten-McKee-Hanson Funeral Home-Affordable Cremation Services is proudly serving the family.
Butch is preceded in death by his father, James Boardman, and his sister, Tammy Boardman.
He is survived by his mother Phyllis; his daughter Rhonda and son Steven; his grandchildren, Tanya Henke, Brandon Henke, and McKenzie Blackdeer; his brothers and sisters, Steve Boardman, Jean Boardman, Linda (Jack) Kuschel, Cheryl Espe, Patty (Steve) Limpert, Dorothy (Steve) Dewald, James jr.(Heather) Boardman, Oris (Tammy) Boardman, Patrick (Tina) Boardman; his fiancé, Sharon Lenser; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Butch’s honor, to be held on Sunday, September 27th at 1:00 PM at none other than Butch’s favorite hangout – the Krazy L Tavern (located at 518 Hagar Street in La Crosse). Butch’s family is looking forward to remembering all the good times everyone had with him, and how he touched other’s lives in one way or another.
