Regular Service
James E. Brackin (Jim) age 61, of Blair, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Gundersen Lutheran with his loving family by his side. He was born in Postville, Iowa on April 19th, 1960. Son of the late Joseph E. Brackin and Betty J. Brackin. He grew up in Iowa before making his home in Ettrick, WI. He was married briefly to the late Julie F. Brackin and had two children.
Jim loved listening to music, a lot of times you would find him in his garage fixing cars and listening to the oldies. He also loved fishing, watching movies and TV shows.
There wasn’t much he wouldn’t do and every day with him was an adventure. But Jim’s life became further fulfilled when he met and married his other half, Donna Brackin (Olson) in June 2001, and became a Step Dad to her three children. Jim always wanted to make people laugh, his sense of humor was like no other. He was a hard working man who wanted the best for his family.
Jim will be forever missed by his wife, his two children, his son Kelly Brackin of Trempealeau, Wi., his daughter Lindsey Brackin and his grandsons Gabriel Strover, Nicholas Strover, and Julian Brackin of Elgin, Mn., his stepsons Josh and Justin Noble, and step daughter Vanessa Olson-Tollefson. And his siblings, Joann (Neil) Hammersland, Ima Jean (Randy) Cheney, John Brackin, and Susie (Gary) Steif, also by many nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Josephine Olson “Punk”.
The family is planning a ‘Celebration of Life’ for a future date.
